“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart — these, O God, You will not despise.”
Psalms 51:17 NKJV
The sovereignty of an all mighty God is something truly remarkable. From the vastness of life to the details of cells, this, my friend, is all He requires from us: the idea that our importance is gone and our dependence is on Him. A sweet smelling aroma is the person who walks in submission and understands their place before God. We are made righteous by Him, called by Him, changed by Him, and saved by Him.
May our hearts depend on Him, break for Him, forgive because of Him, and reject the things of the world by the power of Him.
Would our lofty thinking of self be laid down. Would our legalistic moral inclusions be diminished.
Brethren, we are called to simply surrender.
“For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.”
II Corinthians 2:15 NKJV
“Morality may keep you out of jail, but it takes the blood of Jesus Christ to keep you out of hell.” - Charles Spurgeon
