“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.”
Ephesians 5:1 NKJV
“So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.”
Luke 5:16 NKJV
There is an elegance to calm waters that reflect some of earth’s richest wonders. To sit beside a lake and take in what it reflects reminds me of what we are called to do in our relationship with the Lord. As mere men we can often equate a life of busyness to one of triumph and happiness, but we miss the opportunity to sit still and listen. We miss the opportunity to embrace the Joy we find when we bask in quietness; and not one of reflecting on one’s self, but on Christ. So find that time, whether five minutes or an hour - it’s not about the time but the heart that gives all. As Jesus withdrew himself often to get alone and seek the Father, we too should seek. So turn off the distractions, and may your yearnings be met with satisfaction. His enablement will aid us to hear and His enablement will aid us to do. We bear His image when we seek His heart. We can only reflect what our heart truly beholds.
